I’m Jamie Lee

I am a HCI researcher and a fourth year PhD student at University of California, Irvine, advised by Dr. Yunan Chen.

Broadly, my research explores how individuals perceive and engage with digital health technologies. Specifically, I study how youth interact with emerging AI systems for health management and socioemotional support, and how those systems can be designed to better serve them.

I use participatory and creative methods, including speculative design, design fiction, and interviews, to explore "why" questions, and quantitative methods to examine "what's happening" questions.
